Arenado to Arizona
I fell in love with Nolan Arenado's game soon after he was called up by the Colorado Rockies. I have always had a thing for players that play great defense. And Nolan is by far one of the best all time with a glove. Once he became a Cardinal, regardless of my dislike for anything St Louis Cardinal, I still thought of him as one of the game's best players.
When it comes to 3rd baseman, there are not many better. Nolan has always been one of the best hitters hitting for career average of .282 with 350+ homers. Nolan has is also a 10x Gold Glove winner. That ties him for 2nd most by a 3rd baseman in MLB history. These stats show why he is an 8x All Star.
He has grit to his game. I have a bobble head that has his chin split open from sliding.
While with the Rockies, Nolan participated in a charity where he would sign autographs through the mail. I was able to obtain a few signatures through this and my wife was able to talk him into signing a baseball one night leaving Busch. He was always pretty tough in person but somehow she pulled it off. I have a, I believe the size is right, 20x30 signed photo that as soon as you walk into my basement it is displayed on the first wall you see. I was able to add that and a signed full size batting helmet to the signed baseball.
Nolan, I wish you well in Arizona. Arizona, you got you a 3rd baseman. He may be on the backend of his career but you will have a leader on the field and in the clubhouse.
